Cycling trails in Jena
Getting some proper exercise in the great outdoors while enjoying remarkable vistas, and covering several attractions on one route: these are just some of the benefits of exploring Jena by bike. Jena also lies at the crossroads of two long-distance routes, the Towns of Thuringia Cycle Route and the Saale Cycle Route, which follows the course of the river. These connect to other cycle paths that can be combined as required to form individual circular tours.
Circular tours have the advantage that you can visit far more attractions, vantage points and refreshment stops on one tour. Cycling tours in and around Jena really do come into their own because of the wonderful scenery, the SaaleHorizontale trail, the castles and ruins, and the welcoming inns along the way.
